Education: PhD in Anthropology from Southern Methodist University MA in Anthropology from Southern Methodist Univeristy MA in Multicultural Women's and Gender Studies from Texas Woman's University BA in English and Anthropology from University of North Texas 

Hometown: Yankton, SD, though I spent the last 29 years in and around Dallas, TX

Favorite ISU memory or tradition: I'm still very new here, but the thing I have loved the most is walking through all the beautiful nature on campus. My favorite memory from my first month on the job is petting one of the horses!

Favorite motto: "Queer joy is an act of resistance" "None of us are free until we are all free" 

Hobbies: Yoga, listening to live music, reading, watching Texas Rangers baseball, nature walks, hanging out with my wife and cats, reading Tarot, playing pub trivia 

Interests: Feminist and queer activism, 19th century public health history, the 6 wives of Henry the Eighth (Anne of Cleves forever!), crystals, Tarot and other forms of divination, plants and gardening, stroytelling, contemplative practices such as meditiation and labyrinth walking, astrology, contemporary Parganism and other emerging religious movements (that's my research area mostly). 

Favorite Food: Fried Chicken

Fun Facts: I'm the youngest of 9 kids. I've been to the Great Pyramids in Egypt. I've presented my scholarly work in three different countries -- The US, Canada, and Belgium.
