Kipp Van Dyke serves as the Interim Associate Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students. With more than two decades of experience in higher education, he has earned national recognition for his expertise in case management and student advocacy.

In this role, he provides strategic leadership for programs and services that promote student success, well-being, and engagement. Kipp collaborates extensively with academic and administrative partners to advance student-centered policies and practices that enhance the overall educational experience.

Originally from La Porte City, Iowa, Kipp is an Iowa State University alumnus. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Services, followed by a Master of Science in Community Counseling from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Kipp began his professional career in Residence Life at Kansas State University, where he held multiple leadership roles, including Area Coordinator and Residence Life Coordinator. In 2009, he returned to Iowa State University as Assistant Director of Student Assistance in the Dean of Students Office.

He advanced through progressively responsible positions, including Interim Director, Assistant Dean and Director of Student Assistance, and Associate Dean of Students, before assuming his current role as Interim Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students.

Kipp values building meaningful connections with students, families, and campus partners. He believes collaboration is essential to advancing student success and that creating the best opportunities for students to thrive requires a shared commitment across the university community.
