Meet the Interim Dean

Keith E. Robinder, Ph.D. has served as the Interim Dean of Students since January, 2016.
 

Dr. Robinder has worked as Iowa State for 8 years, first serving as the Assistant Dean/Director of Student Assistance and Outreach, and then as Associate Dean of Students. He has also served as a part time faculty member in the School of Education at Iowa State. 

Prior to his time at Iowa State, Dr. Robinder served as the Director of Student Life and Community Engagement at Laramie County Community College where he provided leadership to a comprehensive student leadership and service learning center that advised all student organizations.  In this role, he also supervised new student orientation and the First Year Experience, International and Multicultural student services, health education, student conduct, and residence life.  Dr. Robinder received his Master’s degree in Student Affairs and Higher Education and his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Colorado State University.  As an undergraduate, Keith was an active student leader at both the University of Wyoming and the University of Denver where he received his degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. 

Keith lives in Ames, with his partner Wendy; his two children, Abigail and Carter; and their two Golden Doodles, Paisley and Josie.  He is active in the Ames community and serves on the YSS Corporate Board of Directors.  He enjoys spending time with his family, baking, traveling, volunteering and gardening.
