A little about our keynote speaker

Jennifer E. Joslin, Ph.D.

Dr. Jennifer Joslin is a lesbian activist who lives in Iowa City, Iowa, with her partner of 15 years and two children. For ten years, she has served as the co-host of the Iowa City Pride Festival and Festival Talent Show, and host of the Iowa Women's Music Festival. Jennifer is the Senior Associate Director for Training and Staff Development at The University of Iowa's Academic Advising Center. She was recently elected chair of the National Academic Advising Association's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Allied Concerns Commission and is currently serving as conference co-chair for the NACADA regional advising conference in May in Iowa City. Jennifer has presented at national conferences on topics such as women and lesbians in sport, the concerns of LGBTQ college students, and on training and staff development issues in the advising workplace. She is a member of The University of Iowa's LGBTQ Staff and Faculty Association and parishioner at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Iowa City.
