Scholarships
All scholarships have been awarded for the 2009-2010 academic year. DEADLINE for 2010-2011 is January 15, 2010 by 5:00 P.M.
Adult Student Scholarship Fund
The Adult Student Scholarship Fund provides adult students at Iowa State with scholarships designed to cover the cost of books and supplies for one semester. Students will not be awarded two consecutive semesters. The scholarship will be awarded through the Office of Student Financial Aid.
Requirements:
- 24 years of age or older by the deadline of the application period
- Did not enter Iowa State University directly from high school
- Is responsible for dependents other than a spouse
Part-time, graduate and international students who meet the criteria are eligible.

Division of Student Affairs Adult Student Scholarship
Awarded $1,000 each academic year and is renewable for up to four years.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate student status — full or part-time
- Must be an adult student over the age of 25 years
- Must demonstrate financial need
- First preference shall will be given to single Mothers
- Second preference shall be given to applicants who demonstrate high financial need
- Minimum GPA of 2.0
- Submit completed application packet — see checklist

The Lee Hadley Scholarship
Created to honor Lee Hadley, a positive force in the lives of students and in the English Department at Iowa State University for 26 years! This $1,000-$1,500 scholarship can be renewed upon selection committee approval for four years. The Lee Hadley Scholarship was also created to motivate and reward adult students striving to reach their dreams!
Requirements:
- Iowa resident
- Financial Need
- Minimum GPA of 2.0
- Full-time undergraduate student
- Single Parent or Non-traditional student (23 years and older)
Preference will be given to applicants in the following order:
- English major, especially in creative writing
- First generation college student
- Ethnic minority
