SSSP Policies Reference Guide
Program Requirements
- Fulfillment of program requirements is necessary before students will be considered for grants, scholarships, awards, etc
- Students need to and are encouraged to make the best use of the services we offer
SSSP Program Requirements
- SSSP Kick-Off Orientation each academic semester
- At least one planned community/cultural event (If not SSSP sponsored, provide verification of attendance)
- At least one SSSP or ISU special interest workshop per semester (If not SSSP sponsored, provide verification of attendance)
- At least two SSSP peer mentor contacts (in-person) and respond to additional contacts (phone, email, etc.)
- At least two SSSP academic advising sessions per semester
- SSSP End of the Year celebration each academic year
- Academic support (i.e. tutoring, workshops, etc.) and peer mentoring sessions as recommended by the Program Advisor
SSSP Etiquette
- General behavior
- Please treat everyone with respect and consideration
- Foul/offensive language is prohibited in the computer lab and SSSP space
- Food and facilities use
- Clean up after yourself
- Please cover your dishes in the microwave, clean up spills
- Please remove any old items from the refrigerator
- Refrigerator will be cleaned weekly and food/containers will be tossed
Sign-in Sheets
- Students MUST sign in with every daily visit, print name clearly
Visitors/Outsiders
- SSSP services are for program participants ONLY (copying, printing, laptops, etc.)
Computer Lab
- Earphones are required when playing music (as a courtesy to others using lab)
- Priority is given to academics for computer use (if you are playing games, and someone needs to type a paper, the person who needs to type a paper has priority)
Printing Services
- Printing for SSSP students ONLY
- Computer lab printing for ACADEMIC-RELATED projects ONLY, no clubs, student organizations, etc.
- Color printer - must either be emailed or on a memory stick
- 10-page limit for copy machine per day, this includes copies made from books located in the SSSP textbook library
Guidlines For Laptop Loan Service

SSSP participants may check out a laptop for one week, no back to back check outs.

SSSP participants may reserve a laptop two weeks in advance (one reservation at a time).

Laptop reservations must be made in person.

Only the SSSP participant named on this form is entitled to privileges of SSSP laptop loan service.

Check out is Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm. If you aren't here by 4:00pm the laptop will be made available to another student.

Laptop must be returned before noon the following Thursday, on the agreed date, in good condition with all cables and accessories.

LATE RETURN: There is a $20.00 fee for late returns (must be paid before next checkout) and suspension of laptop privilege after two late returns.
Requesting Reference Letters from Advisor
Activity Tickets
- 5-ticket maximum for semester
- 1 - Kickoff or New Student Orientation
- 1 - Community/Cultural Event
- 1 - Workshop
- 1 - Extra bonus for additional workshop or community/cultural event
- 1 - Upon completing two meetings with your SSSP Advisor
- One week maximum to fill out an evaluation and receive an activity ticket
- Kim or Zach ONLY are able to sign activity tickets
- DRAWINGS: Must be present to win. In order to win if not present a student must have an SSSP Advisor approved absence prior to the event.
Textbook Library
- Books are to be used ONLY in the SSSP office - they are not for loan
- Students must leave their ISU Card at the front desk when borrowing a book
- All copies from the textbooks are included in the TEN PAGE LIMIT (see printing service policy above)
