TRiO Student Support Services Program at Iowa State University serves 250 low-income, first-generation students and/or students with disabilities each year with the goal of increasing persistence and graduation rates of these students. As a part of TRIO, Student Support Services Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education.

TRIO has guided me from junior high to Iowa State University. The staff and members of all the TRIO programs I have participated in have been great mentors and resources to my scholastic achievements. Each experience and opportunity granted to me has shaped me to be the person I am today, and I would encourage all students to take advantage of all the TRIO programs. These programs help you grow as a person.
