It is our pleasure to host the 2012 Higher Education Case Management Round Table at Iowa State University. We have worked diligently to provide a collaborative and comprehensive experience that offers training and professional development for new and continuing case managers. We are pleased to build our conference around the Iowa State University Student Assistance Model. Student Assistance is an interdisciplinary, student development model that supports retention by prioritizing students’ academic and personal success. Student Assistance integrates case management concepts from the areas of student development, social work, threat assessment, and counseling psychology.
We have assembled a dedicated group of colleagues from Student Counseling Services, the Dean of Students Office, ISU Police and the entire Division of Student Affairs who are prepared to host and lead the various programming sessions. Our keynote speaker, Dr. Gene Deisinger, previously served at Iowa State University and currently serves at Virginia Tech. We anticipate Dr. Deisinger will provide new insights to our colleagues on how to establish broad institutional support and appreciation for the emerging student affairs specialization in case management.
