In collaboration with the ISU Academic Success Center and each of the academic colleges, MSA provides subsidized tutoring for African American, Latino American, Asian American, American Indian, and Bi/Multiracial students at Iowa State University. Students can initiate a request for tutoring through the MSA Office or through their college Multicultural Liaison Officers (MLOs). A staff member will assess the student's academic status and assist in the tutoring service and application process.
The MSA Martin Luther King Jr. Emergency Loan is an interest-free 30-day
loan designed to address extenuating financial situations that may likely
affect a student's educational goals. The loan is initiated through the
Oiffce of Multicultural Student Affairs. A limited amount of funding is
available and set-aside for borrowing each year. Availability of funds is
based on currently established MSA Office requirements and a needs
assessment. Please inquire within the MSA Office for more information.
