Scott Rohlf Presidential Leadership Initiative Award
The Scott Rohlf Presidential Leadership Initiative Award is a scholarship in its fourth year that will continue to be presented annually to one student who has demonstrated leadership and involvement in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community at ISU. The purpose of the scholarship is to complement successful academic experiences by partially supporting student leadership and involvement in the LGBT community at ISU.
Scholarship Amount
The scholarship amount is $1,000.
Qualifications
Applicants must have all of the following qualifications:
- Be a junior or senior during Spring 2008 Semester
- Be enrolled, or planning to enroll, during Fall 2008 at Iowa State University
- Demonstrated leadership and involvement in promoting LGBT student activities at Iowa State University
- Demonstrated leadership in the promotion of a positive identity for LGBT students throughout the University community
- Committed to academic achievement as demonstrated by a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Must not be employed as a work-study student or intern with LGBTSS at time of application
Application Procedure
LGBT applicants must submit a short application. Requests for the application may be made in one of the following ways:
- Drop by LGBTSS at 1034 Student Services Building - applications are on the door
- E-mail with full name and mailing address
- Call 294-5433 leaving full name and mailing address on the answering machine
- Write LGBTSS, 1034 Student Services Building, ISU, Ames, IA 50011
