What is Psychology 131?
Psych 131 is a one-credit-hour course intended to develop students academic attitude and behaviors for success. Topics covered in class include:
- Time Management
- Test Preparation and Taking
- Memory
- Reading
- Note Taking
- Critical and Creative Thinking
- Writing
- Relationships
- Healthy Choices
Who Should Take Psych 131?
This course is offered each semester and is directed toward both incoming and returning students. Whether students are coming straight from high school, transferring from another institution, returning to Iowa State and looking for new skills, or entering as an adult learner, this course may be very helpful in being academically successful. Class size is generally limited to 30 students or less to allow for group interaction as well as individual attention.
